It always seems impossible until it's done.
Pursuing a dream is hard work, but the right words delivered at the right time―by people who’ve been there and done that―can give us just the motivation we need. The right words can rekindle our enthusiasm, re-energize our efforts, dispel doubt, let us know we’re not alone, and show us that the fight is worth it―and winnable.
This quote comes from Nelson Mandela, who certainly earned the right to speak about perseverance and hard work. The seemingly impossible is something you can accomplish. You've done it before, and it's important to remember that.
One of the stupid things you do at work is psyching yourself out. It's easy to set up conditions for failure so it's easy to take when you let it happen. Great run, right? 2 months later, the record was smashed by 2 runners at the Commonwealth games. Not only that, the 4 minute mile is now the standard for male athletes.
